Forest River, Inc., the Nation’s largest manufacturer of Recreational Vehicles, Cargo Trailers, Transit Buses and Boats has an immediate opening.
Position Title: CAD Operator
Summary: Produces design layouts requiring advanced mathematical and/or engineering principles. Works from instructions given by a Product Engineer or supervisor. Works with considerable independence but work is reviewed for content and accuracy upon completion.
Essential Functions:
- Consistently follows design and drafting practices of form, fit and function on all designs and complies with industry expected levels of quality with few errors.
- Ability to gather information from team members or customers necessary to complete sketches, and layouts for developing a design.
- Completes design projects as assigned including adherence to time schedules, actual design, and coordinating with Salesmen and/or Engineering Manager.
- Prepares or assists in completion of all necessary documentation to release product into production, including bills of materials and drawings/CAD models.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assists in assembly and development of prototypes as required.
- Assists manufacturing personnel with information regarding product relating questions as required.
Qualifications - Education, Experience, and/or Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of drafting practice using Autodesk – 2D AutoCAD and/or 3D Inventor CAD software.
- Must be creative with the ability to make decisions.
- Ability to work on multiple projects with latitude for exercise of inventiveness and independent judgment.
- Must have thorough knowledge of accepted methods or concepts along with a working knowledge of basic engineering, design or design principles related to a specific area of work, and basic manufacturing processes.
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills to interface with all levels of personnel.
