Position Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing remodeling projects from start to finish, ensuring quality work, managing subcontractors, and maintaining clear communication with clients. This role requires someone with strong knowledge of construction, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to take ownership of a project’s success.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee residential remodeling and construction projects, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring work is completed to Forge Construction’s standards.
- Conduct job site visits to inspect progress, confirm quality, and resolve any issues proactively.
- Ensure job sites are clean and organized, enforcing a professional work environment.
- Read and interpret construction plans, ensuring work is executed correctly.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating work with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure materials are ordered and delivered on time to avoid delays.
- Proactively address potential scheduling conflicts or project roadblocks.
Communication & Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the construction process.
- Provide clear, professional updates to clients via weekly email reports detailing progress, upcoming work, and any decisions needed.
- Address client questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
Job Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily logs in Buildertrend (or company software) to document project progress.
- Track materials, receipts, and expenses related to each job.
- Ensure all necessary permits, inspections, and paperwork are completed on time.
Problem-Solving & Hands-On Leadership
- Identify and troubleshoot construction challenges before they become major issues.
- Work hands-on when necessary, this is a management role, but being willing to step in when needed is essential.
- Lead by example, setting expectations for professionalism and craftsmanship on job sites.
What We’re Looking For
- Construction Knowledge – Prior experience in residential remodeling, carpentry, or project management is required.
- Strong Leadership – Ability to manage subcontractors and keep projects on track.
- Problem-Solving Skills – Must be resourceful and capable of handling job site challenges independently.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in residential construction, project management, or a related field.
- Experience with JobTread or similar project management software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Knowledge of permitting and inspection processes in Birmingham, AL and surrounding municipalities.
