Job Description
Our client, a facilities engineering consulting company is looking to fill a permanent Structural Engineer role for their Troy office. The ideal candidate will have 2 -5+ years’ experience with their EIT or EI designation. The candidate must be open to travel to the US. This role offers the chance to be a part of a growing team within a progressive organization. ( Canadian Citizen, Able to get TN Visa)
Responsibilities:
Analyze and prepare structural reports.
Read and understand structural drawings.
Technically competent to perform hand calculations based on American and Canadian Standards of codes.
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications drawing.
Perform site visits and attend meetings with contractors and clients.
Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber structures.
Ability to sketch structure details and sections.
Qualifications / Aptitude:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
2 - 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
Steel, Concrete, Trusses, Industrial/Commercial, Manufacturing environments
Advanced Steel, AutoCAD, ProSteel or SDS/2 or Tekla
Familiar with Canadian and American Structural Engineering standards and codes
Must be willing to travel throughout North America
