International Program Director
Organization Overview
Forgotten Children Worldwide (FCW) is a nonprofit organization that serves the vulnerable children population in Africa and Asia. Their mission is to protect children from extreme poverty and child trafficking. Further, FCW strives to empower each child/student—including their transition to adulthood. FCW is a faith-based organization committed to helping children know their heavenly Father is crazy about them.
FCW currently serves in Nepal, India, Madagascar, Uganda and Malawi. They are headquartered in Bluffton, Indiana.
This position is responsible to the Executive Director/CEO.
Desired Characteristics & Experience
Cross-cultural experience and understanding, with a willingness to collaborate, strong organization and leadership, passionate about serving the vulnerable, and a basic understanding of fund development. This person should be an out-of-the-box thinker, relational, self-starter, high-achiever, professional, driven, empathetic, and compassionate.
A minimum of three years of previous management experience is essential.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Oversight of International Partnerships-(80%):
o Receive, read, and record all Partner quarterly reports, including forwarding to Sponsorship Director, marketing department, etc.
o Creating new measuring and data-driven tools to provide to partners to improve the data that FCW receives from them on a regular basis.
o Exploring new initiatives with international partners
o Serve as assistant chair of PMT. Schedule meetings, lead and follow up with Country Advocates and partners. Keep information and communication flowing regarding projects and proposals.
o Following up directly with indigenous partnerships on a regular basis via email, phone and on-site visits. In effect, to serve as liaison between FCW USA and FCW International Partners.
o Meet with each Ugandan International Employees one time per month via zoom with Executive Director/CEO
o Providing guidance, training, and scheduling for all teams who travel to FCW International sites. (includes ticketing & lodging)
o Exploring the possibility of new partnerships
o Keep records of contacts with transnational partners and other records as necessary
o Oversee the Packing Coordinator and shipping of all containers
o Create policies and procedures, forms, services, and questionnaires for PMT and organization at large.
o Serve as Country Advocate for an agreed upon Indigenous ministry
o Serve alongside the Executive Director/CEO and follow up directly with Indigenous partnerships on a regular basis via email, phone and on-site visits. In effect, to serve as the liaison between FCW USA and FCW International Partners.
o Participate in regular Zoom calls and communication with all international partners and staff.
o Recruit team members and Lead International Vision Trips for encouragement, evaluation, and skills development (1-2 international trips per year)
Organizational Leadership & other Responsibility Areas (20%):
o Praying for the ministry of FCW continuously; seeking God’s direction for the mission.
o Providing assistance for creating vision/mission/values and synergy for the direction of the mission
o Serving as a resource person to board members and task force members serving with FCW
o Serving as a member of FCW’s Executive Team
o To work directly and consistently with the Executive Director/CEO for evaluation, updates, strategy, accountability, etc.
o Actively pursuing new board members as appropriate—in cooperation with Executive Director/CEO and Executive Team.
o Serving as spokesperson/representative for FCW at specified public events as needed
o Works to cultivate, and steward contributions on behalf of the organization.
o Non-voting member on the FCW Board of Directors
o Staff oversight as necessary.
