Job Summary
A leading AmLaw 200 firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager to oversee the overall management and supervision of the accounting specialists. This role is responsible for performing accounting functions in one or more of the following: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, General Ledger, and Treasury categories
Responsibilities (May Include as Related to Accounting Function Categories Assigned):
- Manage the company credit card program and expense reimbursement program.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and industry regulations related to accounts payable processes.
- Audit and file 1099’s.
- Oversee registration of all new payers/vendors to ensure electronic setups are completed accurately.
- Manage the invoice entry, approval and payment process.
- Work with other departments to ensure that posting errors are not just corrected, but the root cause is identified and resolved.
- Assist in preparing financial statements per firm guidelines and requirements.
- Manage journal entries and account reconciliations for monthly and annual close.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Manage Accounting Specialist team members conducting performance reviews, providing coaching/training, and fostering a positive working environment.
- Perform ongoing financial analysis of operational functions.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Focus on problem solving and conflict resolution approaches to addressing requests and issues.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workflows and quickly shift focus in a highly dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years in progressively responsible operational accounting roles.
- Proficiency in financial report writing with excellent analytical skills.
- Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
- High proficiency with Excel and other financial applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
