The Production Layer Manager leads all functions in layer operations to produce safe, quality eggs at their site. The Production Layer Manager is responsible for understanding, communicating, and implementing company standards. This role is responsible for leading a managing a team of husbandry specialists.
Responsibilities
- Review production data with team and develop action items to improve performance
- Establish and monitor schedules for lighting, feed, watering, and ventilation within pullet barn
- Schedule bird vaccinations and manure cleaning
- Steward safe workers by following and enforcing safety regulations and policies
- Develop and drive site results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; and coaching employees
- Train team on company standards, expectations, and regulations. Lead team as a results-driven manager, continuously recognizing, researching, and implementing process improvement to drive company performance
- Responsible for implementing Forsman Farms culture, policies, and expectations
- Manage day to day projects, efficiently delegating projects and responsibilities among team members
- Implement company policies, procedures, and production standards to create a safe work environment
- Develop staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous farm experience or ability to learn farm operations
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve goals
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Ability to seek, identify and investigate deficiencies and provide continuous process improvement
- Critical thinker with discretionary decision-making ability to act in best interest of the company
- Effective communicator
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
