The purpose of this classification is to operate the spray pad and perform ground maintenance in the Parks & Recreation Department (Programs Division).
Job Summary
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Collects admission fees and sells concessions. Responsible for all money handled at the spray pad. Daily reporting of money collected and responsible for turning money over to building staff.
Schedules staff for the spray pad.
Checks chemical levels in the water and maintains daily log.
Maintains park grounds, spray pad, restrooms and related facilities.
Locks and unlocks spray pad gate and pump house.
Turns spray features on and off.
Enforces spray pad rules.
Disposes of litter and removes debris from park grounds and restrooms.
Monitors and inspects park facilities to identify problems, needed repairs, or other situations requiring attention, such as vandalism, inoperative lighting, or broken sprinkler heads, reports problem situations to supervisor.
Assists with setup of summer camps, or other parks/recreational activities.
Responsible for daily reporting of any incidents and/or accidents.
Additional Functions
This classification is designated as a safety sensitive position which is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and any other drug testing methods as stated in policies adopted by Forsyth County concerning drug and alcohol.
Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Performs other related duties as required.
Must be 16 years or older (in order to operate equipment); ability to perform all essential position functions; must be able to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers; must be neatly groomed and be willing to wear and maintain county-issued clothing; must be willing to work in a variety of weather conditions; must be punctual and present on all scheduled days. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Seasonal employees are not eligible for benefits.
