Forsyth County's Parks and Recreation has an opening for Maintenance Technician I. This is a full-time opportunity to work outdoors at beautiful Tanglewood Park.
Great opportunity to work within the Parks & Recreation field in a pleasing outdoor County Park location. The Maintenance Technician will perform duties that include but are not be limited to tasks such as; restroom cleaning and maintenance, picnic shelter cleaning and maintenance, trash/litter removal, pressure washing, painting/staining, light carpentry/plumbing/electrical, mowing, line trimming, blowing debris/leaves, mulching, ball field and volleyball court maintenance, meeting and dealing with park patrons and all other park related building and facilities maintenance and special event activities as required.
Operates motor vehicles and a variety of small and medium sized equipment. This position works in all types of weather and fills in when vacancies arise and will perform all other related park maintenance tasks as needed or required.
A successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
Ability to independently adhere to a time schedule.
Ability to maintain order and ensure compliance with rules.
Ability to operate and care for power equipment and hand tools.
Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.

Ability to inspect and report needs for repairs.
Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds. Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work.
