- Conducts interviews and evaluations of offenders, visitations to jail, and pre-sentence investigations.
- Conducts office, telephone conversations and field visits with probationers on scheduled basis, after work hours or on weekend.
- Research, prepare and evaluate violation reports and make the appropriate modifications to the requested reports.
- Administer random drug and alcohol testing through urinalysis and hair testing and make appropriate referrals for assessment and treatment.
- Maintain and record documentation on each defendant’s case; prepare statistical data bi-monthly on all cases assigned.
- Ensures offenders receive court directed counseling, screening and referrals as needed.
- Maintains communication with other agencies involved in offender’s supervision plan.
- Supervises electronic monitored offenders.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or field approved by the State.
- No previous job related experience required.
- Computer and organizational skills; Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
- Verbal and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the Probationer, the public, other employees and elected officials.
- Required to become a certified corrections officer within one year of employment by attending training provided by the state.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $22.51 - $28.14 hourly based on qualifications
CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
