Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and organized Hotel Front Desk Lead to handle all front-line duties, including receiving incoming guests and providing guest services. This role involves responding to telephone inquiries, greeting guests, and managing reservations while promoting hotel services and ensuring maximum room revenues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and handle all front-line duties.
  • Follow the tasks listed in the Daily Check List with instruction and training for each shift.
  • Assist in administrative duties related to booking, tracking, charging, handling, and entering room reservations.
  • Enter appropriate data into the PMS and use all significant market segments.
  • Ensure all guest room rates and revenues are administered correctly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and guest information; protect company assets and guest privacy.
  • Possess telephone communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence potential hotel guests.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with hotel amenities, room rate promotions, restaurants, surrounding venues, and hotel policy to assist guests with requests for information.
  • Be responsible for assigned safety deposit box, including daily cash deposits and log.
  • Practice adequate communication with transactions and accurate cash counting, complying with the variance policy.
  • Complete all shift reports at shift end and provide accurate pass-on.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
  • Maintain and follow all key handling policies and procedures.
  • Be a self-starter, complete tasks in a timely manner, and work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrate credibility and dependability through employment history.
  • Model high standards of honesty and integrity in all matters relating to employment with the Shoshone-Bannock Gaming/Hotel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of experience preferred.
  • Customer Service Certification, Excellent Phone Etiquette, Emergency First Aid Training, Online Travel Agent experience, Hotel Supervisor Essentials, Bilingual Shoshone Bannock/Spanish preferred but not required (G6).
  • Two-year college certificate in Business Administration/Management preferred.
  • Two to three years of supervisory experience preferred (G7).
  • AA in Hospitality with three years of supervisory experience required (G8/S1-3).

Certificates, License, and Registrations

  • Must submit supporting documents of education and training (High School Diploma, GED, Degree, and Certificates).
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Driver’s License and qualify for Fleet Management coverage on company vehicles.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for long periods (6-10 hours) and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Public work environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, tobacco smoke, and airborne particles.
  • Moderate noise level, increasing to loud on the casino floor.

Eligibility: All permanent full-time employees (30 hours per week) who have completed their probationary period are eligible to enroll in benefits during the annual open enrollment period.
