Manager, EVS directs the environmental services/housekeeping program to maintain sanitary, safe, attractive and orderly conditions. Responsible for direct oversight of the EVS Techs. The Manager, EVS is responsible for maintaining and promoting a healthy and safe environment within the facility and ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control standards.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Manage FHC operations for EVS; including establishing and maintaining policies and procedures, supply chain and budget management.
- Ensure proper coverage of all shift schedules and completion of projects; create and maintain daily schedules.
- Responsible for hiring, training, counseling and performance coaching of EVS Techs. Assist in the training and orientation of new hires.
- Manages labor & material resources effectively to deliver high-quality services and support within the framework of available resources.
- Performs daily quality control behaviors that promote accountability and improve patient satisfaction.
- Coordinates and performs project assignments (including carpet extraction, floor stripping/finishing; wall washing).
- Develop and implement procedures for cleaning spaces within the facility to meet the desired quality outcomes and safeguard a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Contribute to maintaining an accurate inventory and conducting routine inspections.
- Maintains working knowledge of and follows safety and infection control standards, Environment of Care Compliance and maintains regulatory requirements including state, federal and Joint Commission regulations.
Requirements of this position include:
- Associate degree or a combinator of education and work experience required.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- 3 years of progressive responsibility in custodial/housekeeping or other comparable experience in a healthcare or commercial setting required.
- Supervisory experience of hospital or EVS staff; project management experience preferred.
- Familiarity with custodial equipment and healthcare EVS sanitation methods and standards. Financial management, analytical skills, quality assurance & operational data analysis and reporting. Proficient in the use of a variety of computer software (MS Office Suite). Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of general management principles and practices. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
