The Certified Nurse Assistant and Licensed Practical Nurse are responsible for providing patient care within the scope of their practice under the guidance of the nurse. The CNA perform tasks and treatments beneficial to patient care and recovery as directed by the nurse.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Assists adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in activities of daily living including ambulating and transferring, patient safety and comfort measures.
- Provides holistic care and performs treatments within the scope of practice and departmental guidelines, while assisting the nurse with nursing care and safety measures.
- Reports concerns, data and abnormal findings to the RN.
- Performs patient rounding and responds to call lights in a prompt manner
- Documents care provided and data elements required in the medical record.
- Collaborates with members of the care team to provide quality patient care.
- Assembles supplies and equipment and monitors inventory.
Requirements of this position include:
- CNA: Graduate of accredited nursing assistant certification program and must be on the WI State Nurse Assistant Registry.
- CPR certification within department guidelines
