Fort HealthCare is a patient-centered hospital and healthcare system serving individuals, businesses and families in Jefferson, Dane, and Walworth Counties and we are seeking an Ultrasonographer to join our Radiology team.

Shift : Occasional Part Time

Some call required

The Ultrasonographer provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the field and new processes as they evolve.

Responsibilities of this position include :

  • Provides clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
  • Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
  • Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological findings.
  • Communicates with the patient so they understand the exam that is being performed.
  • Analyzes sonograms with relevant information and medical history and communicates the findings to the appropriate physician.
  • Studies information should be reviewed in PACS before being marked as reviewed and ready for Radiologists interpretation.
  • Cleans equipment according to the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Possesses knowledge of different computer applications (Cerner, McKesson, PacsCube, NightHawk).
  • Understands the scheduling process to assist others as needed.
  • Assists other sonographers to assure workflow is completed in a timely manner.

Requirements of this position include :

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
  • ARDMS within 6 months of hire
