POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring FMYN Enterprises’ risk and management and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a safety culture, and mitigates potential risks that could impact employees, customers, and the organization. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide exceptional guest service to external and internal guests by maintaining and exhibiting the We-Ko-Pa Way: Smile and Greet, Name and Meet, Thank you and Goodbye.
  • Identify, assess, and document potential risks to the organization, including operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and action plans.
  • Monitor and analyze risk data and trends to identify areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure risk controls are effectively integrated into business processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance. 
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. 
  • Coordinate and lead safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and accessible.
  • Ensure the organization’s practices comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), MSHA standards, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training activities as required by law.
  • Prepare and submit required safety reports and documentation to regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. 
  • Conduct regular drills and training sessions to prepare employees for emergencies.
  • Serve as the primary contact during emergencies and coordinate response efforts.
  • Communicate risk and safety policies and procedures to all employees.
  • Provide regular reports to management on risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Recommend improvements to safety practices and risk management strategies.
  • Performs other related duties as required.  
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and risk management software. 
  • Must lift more than 50 pounds and push or pull 100.
  • Must obtain and maintain State/Tribal License (including extensive background check).
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
  1. Sit for 67-100% of the workday.  
  2. Computer use and hand and eye coordination 67-100% of the workday.
  3. Stand, walk, and climb stairs for 1-33% of the workday. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or similar certifications are preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in risk management, safety coordination, or a related field
  • Experience in conducting safety training and managing safety programs
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian Tribes. To be considered for Indian Preference, you must submit your Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) with your application.
