Job Title: Security Officer Department: Administration – Anya Estates
Reports To: Anya Estate Property Manager Employment Status: Full Time
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Classification: Sensitive
Supervisory Status: No Salary Minimum: DOE
Driving Classification: Valid Driver’s License
Summary:
This position provides a security presence to ensure that tenants have a safe environment within Anya
Estates, a newly developed community consisting of 148 homes, apartments, and duplexes. The
Security Officer operates under the management of the Anya Estates Property Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following list outlines key responsibilities for this position. Additional duties may be assigned as
needed:
- Conduct hourly patrols of the Property Manager Office and Anya Estates to ensure safety,
- Provide a security presence and observe/report any criminal or suspicious activity to the
- Prepare detailed nightly written reports on activities or problem areas for the Property
- Maintain telephone and vehicle logs and submit reports to the supervisor after every shift.
- Adhere to FMIT and Anya Estates Security Policy and Procedures, FMIT's Personnel Policy,
- Maintain and be responsible for the security vehicle. Report any damages or theft of property,
- Conduct patrols using bicycles, vehicles, and on foot.
- Maintain and secure all assigned official equipment.
- Always present a professional demeanor, wear assigned uniforms while on duty, and perform
- Uphold truth, accuracy, and discretion in all actions, avoiding personal biases or relationships
- Assist with eviction processes through the tribal judicial system.
- Be available for travel for training purposes.
Qualifications:
- At least six (6) months of experience as a Security Guard/Officer required.
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and insurability under the Tribe's auto insurance carrier.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Acknowledgment and agreement to maintain a Drug-Free Workplace as a condition of
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with co-workers, police
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Physical ability to perform long-distance foot and bicycle patrols.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Language Ability:
- Proficient in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and police
Reasoning Ability:
- Strong reasoning and logical problem-solving skills.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus but not mandatory.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Material Utilization:
- Operate hand-held radios, cell phones, bicycles, copy/fax machines, printers, computers,
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license with insurability under the Tribe's auto insurance carrier.
- First Aid and CPR certifications are required within three (3) months of hire (training will be
provided by Anya Estates if needed).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Perform duties in extreme summer conditions and moderate weather conditions.
- Frequently required to stand for long periods, walk long distances, stoop, bend, kneel, and
crouch.
