What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Worker for a Girls Emergency Placement Home position at Fort Mojave Indian Tribe?
Summary:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. This positions requires shift changes for day, swing, & graveyard coverage. The Emergency Placement Home Support Worker is responsible for supporting an environment of success and safety for Emergency Placement Home residents.
Essential Functions:
- Work with participants enrolled into the FMIT Emergency Placement Home,
- Must be willing to learn practices for family unity and family preservation in Human Services,
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information,
- Must be accurate and precise in maintaining case file documentation such as: progress notes, updates, and any other required documentation,
- Must be non-judgmental and impartial in assessment skills and reports,
- Provide timely submission of progress reports, updates, and weekly reports,
- Must be willing to collaborate with other Tribal Departments to ensure the client is participating in established programs,
- Must be able to drive clients to and from client meetings / appointments, and assist with any department transportation requirements,
- Must attend all regular staff meetings and conferences for enrolled clients,
- Must be able to work out of the office, to include client transportation, outreach, and participant progress,
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends and/or holidays for shift coverage or department activities,
- Must be willing to assist client transport to facility from other non-tribal facilities,
- Responsible for organizing, cleaning, and assisting with upkeep of department supplies and cleaning.
- Responsible for daily cleaning schedule.
- Ability to cook and serve meals and snacks to residents.
- Responsible for helping to maintain client nutrition schedule.
- Responsible for supporting extra-curricular recreational activities for residents.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Experience with basic Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Excel, Word preferred.
- Must NOT have a criminal history. Must be able to pass the highest criminal background investigation. Must be aware that criminal background checks will be completed routinely for this position.
Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of work experience, preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe Insurance Plan. Must provide a DMV report with application.
Physical Demands:
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities to adjust focus. The employee will frequently be required to talk and hear, use hands and fingers to handle, reach or feel and manipulate objects or controls, sit or stand for long periods and walk distances, as well as stoop, bend, kneel and crouch.

Pay: $19.50 - $20.00 per hour
