The ideal candidate will be the trusted voice viewers rely on to navigate their mornings, delivering accurate, timely, and impactful traffic reports across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Traffic Coverage: Deliver live, accurate traffic updates during WINK’s morning newscasts, covering road conditions, accidents, construction, and commuter impacts.
- Storytelling: Use compelling visuals and a conversational delivery style to help viewers understand the impact of traffic on their daily lives.
- Multi-Platform Reporting: Collaborate with the digital team to provide real-time updates on WINK’s website, app, social media platforms and radio ensuring viewers stay informed wherever they are.
- Breaking News: Be a critical part of the breaking news team, providing immediate, clear, and actionable information to help viewers navigate urgent situations.
- Community Engagement: Represent WINK News at community events, building strong connections with viewers and stakeholders.
- At least 3 years of on-air reporting or anchoring experience.
- Strong understanding of Southwest Florida’s roadways and traffic patterns (or the ability to quickly learn).
- Exceptional communication and ad-libbing skills.
- Proficiency with traffic mapping systems and newsroom technology.
- Ability to work early mornings and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Team player with a passion for journalism and a commitment to serving the community.
