What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist position at Fort Scott Unified School District 234?
Fort Scott USD 234 is taking applications for a full-time school-based Occupational Therapist. Applicants must have, or be eligible for, a Kansas Occupational Therapist License by the start date. This position will serve a variety of students with physical and fine motor needs in the school setting, potentially serving students from early childhood to the high school level. This position will remain open until filled with anticipated start date of August 4, 2025.
The essential functions of this position include: providing observations, screenings, and evaluations for students to determine if students qualify for special education related services, planning specially designed instruction and/or therapy in support of educationally relevant academic and functional outcomes, supporting students and staff with a continuum of occupational therapy services, and managing paperwork for evaluations, notices, Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs), and quarterly progress reports within IDEA guidelines.
