Position: Engineer Technician
Department: Facilities
Reports to: Senior Engineering Lead/Management
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Essential Functions
• Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel, and live the mission of providing exceptional service at all times
• Accomplish work order requests related to facility repairs and improvements including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, structural, flooring, roofing, painting, drywall, HVAC, lighting, building safety and key systems, completing work in a timely manner
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures to include but not limited to plumbing, electrical, structural, flooring, roofing, painting, drywall, HVAC, lighting, building safety and key systems
• Monitor and record equipment and system performance
• Assist in completion of work requests driven by internal and external customers’ needs, using email and computer programs to track work orders, performing necessary system requirements in the Info Centre work order request system
• Request supplies and tools as needed
• Operate a motor vehicle
• Be available after hours and on weekends for on-call situations, reporting for work calls despite inclement weather conditions when necessary
• Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers, working effectively with peers, team members and regulatory agency personnel
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior
• Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
• Regular attendance is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.
While performing job duties the team member may occasionally be required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member may occasionally be required to stand and/or stand for prolonged periods in confined spaces, work in extreme indoor or outdoor temperatures, walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member may occasionally lift up to 35 pounds and push, pull or drag up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.
At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test, and obtain a gaming license.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED, with technical school or formal apprenticeship preferred
• Two years’ experience in facility maintenance or related field
• Proven knowledge of and competent ability with tools and techniques associated with typical facility repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, flooring, roofing, and wall coverings
• Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Proven record of working independently when required, and accomplishing tasks without direct supervision, with an ability to think creatively to solve problems, evaluate data and learn
• Strong written and oral communication skills, to communicate with contractors, outside workers and team members
• Experience reading complex blueprints, specifications, vendor catalog cut sheets, contractor submittals, pipe diagrams, sketches, schematics and wiring diagrams
