Position: Bookkeeper
Reports to: EDA Management
Status: Full Time - Exempt
SUMMARY:
Works closely with EDA executive management to support the financial activities of the retail and non-gaming Tribal businesses. Performs daily bookkeeping functions and reconciliations with a strong understanding of accounting principles and attention to detail. Perform daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounts reconciliation and close processes and inventory tracking in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum five (5) years bookkeeping experience; Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks Certified User, preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of multi-entity bookkeeping experience.
- Solid time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong computer skills to include effective working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Knowledge of retail-specific accounting functions to include point of sale integration, inventory, sales tax, cash flows, discounts, etc.
- Familiarity with external audit preparation and performance.
- Comfortable with adjusting entries for intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Understanding of basic accounting internal controls.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Document and monitor all financial transactions and code appropriately.
- Prepare general journal entries for review as needed.
- Monitor financial data for discrepancies.
- Prepare account reconciliations on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Intercompany account monitoring and reconciliation.
- Processing and monitoring payroll and sales tax compliance to Tribal, Federal and State agencies as required.
- Ensuring timely filing of required financial reports.
- Timely preparation of monthly financial statements.
- External audit support.
- Understand and comply with established appearance standards.
- Understand and comply with the attendance policy.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The team member may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test and obtain a work permit or a gaming license and comply with to all applicable federal, state, and tribal and regulations.
