The Senior Developer will lead the design, development, support, and securing of the information technology systems for Fort Wayne Metals (FWM) while thoroughly understanding of the structure of the businesses data, the systems being used, and how they are integrated. You will lead projects from a development viewpoint following standards and methodology.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities is required.
- Minimum of 6-years’ relevant experience preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Write technical specs with Business Analysts for projects.
- Research new technologies to benefit Fort Wayne Metals (FWM).
- Develop custom applications based on business requirements to support Fort Wayne Metals (FWM) and the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP).
- Create and maintain critical databases including performance monitoring.
- Perform rigorous problem solving and debugging techniques of developed applications to identify technical and software issues and determine root cause, adjust and improvement as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with end users to provide support and to gather requirements.
- Develop custom advanced reports for specific data results as requested by management.
- Work with the IT team for projects of large scope.
- Collaborate with the IT team to provide on-going support to business units for Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) and custom applications through effective communication with end-users.
- Follow development standards, project methodology, and best practices per Fort Wayne Metals (FWM) IT established standards.
- Support the development team to accomplish project-based tasks, with direction from management.
- Properly document code, processes, and end user functions in a professional manner with the business analysis team.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Fast-paced office environment.
- Travel between facilities required.
- Typical work hours consist of 45 per week.
- Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to access all areas of operation.
