DESCRIPTION:
Trinity Metro has an immediate opening for a Parts Room Clerk. Under the direction of the Parts Room Supervisor, the incumbent issues and receives parts and supplies for vehicle and equipment requirements, maintaining the functions of receiving, storing, and issuing parts, materials, supplies, tools, etc. to mechanics and other personnel according to established procedures. Incumbent maintains security in the parts room and special tool room. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly workplace according to established standards. Adheres to security and safety standards within the work environment.
This position’s responsibilities include:
- Assist Parts Room Supervisor in maintaining stock levels and stock records, ordering parts, materials, supplies, tools, etc., organizing the stockroom, and processing paperwork.
- Issue vehicle parts, supplies, tools, and equipment to fulfill requests within an established timeframe. Follow established security procedures.
- Inspect and match items received and/or issued to packing slip descriptions and quantities. Communicate discrepancies and errors to Parts Room Supervisor.
- Replenish inventory bins by stocking items according to established procedures. Requires the ability to operate a forklift.
- Maintain accurate inventory allocation of stock through adherence to proper procedures.
- Complete daily and weekly cycle counts, as well as participate in annual physical inventories.
- Prepare shipping documents and other paperwork required to return items that are warrantied, damaged or s required and as scheduled for boxes and/or packages items to be returned.
- Pick up ordered parts from Suppliers as scheduled.
- Deliver goods, products, and parts to designated locations within Trinity Metro’s offices and warehouse storage facilities on scheduled dates.
- Provide support for unloading delivery trucks and assisting with receiving deliveries from vendors.
SHIFT SCHEDULE
Saturday and Sunday 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. and Thursday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
EDUCATION
Any combination of experience, training, and/or education that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills will substitute for the required education.
EXPERIENCE
Six (6) months of experience in general stockroom work, inventory control, or warehouse work. Computer and vehicle parts experience preferred.
