Committed to changing the game for students in Northwest Queens, we are searching for an Operations Manager beginning July 2025. Someone who strives for excellence even when the path of least resistance seems easier. A leader is passionate about building community and committed to the persistence and stamina required to do the work. A person who does not shy away from giving critical feedback and can easily navigate different styles of communication and the various constituents in a school community. Open to feedback and eager to improve, this individual’s primary goal is to provide students with choices at the next level in a learning environment that is simultaneously challenging, stimulating, and fun.

Our students were predicted to dramatically underperform their peers in both exams before they set foot in our school. We doubled proficiency rates in reading and nearly tripled them in math and look forward to continuing to build from there. Forte Prep Academy seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager will be crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of various operational aspects, including IT support, event management, material orders, testing coordination, budget/finance/procurement, and risk management.
What You’ll Do
Manage operations of the school’s main office:
Schedule: Monday to Friday
COVID-19 considerations: Vaccines required; masks optional (if vaccinated).
Location: Glendale, NY 11385. Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work is required.

What We Need
Forte Prep Academy seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager will be crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of various operational aspects, including IT support, event management, material orders, testing coordination, budget/finance/procurement, and risk management.
What You’ll Do
Manage operations of the school’s main office:
- Coordinate facilities efforts for our new Myrtle Ave High School Campus
- Coordinate projects related to custodial, school systems
- Support in managing our School Operations Ticketing system.
- Manage phones (answer, receive, and place phone calls, take messages, etc.).
- Manage mail (stamp, sign, and distribute received mail; prepare and send outgoing mail, etc.).
- Respond to and address family requests, including providing needed documentation.
- Ensure that systems are in place to support translation needs, crucial conversations, and the easy flow of information for all stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to building an engaged, diverse, and inclusive school community.
- Support the collection and maintenance of student, personnel, and school information (receive forms and paperwork, take and track attendance, track missing forms, manage databases, update contact information, keep records current, enter information into ATS and other student information systems, etc.).
- Support the administrative team with special projects as needed.
- Moves packages weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Provide technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate with IT personnel to address and resolve technical challenges.
- Support with our systems for the school, classroom technology components, copy machines, student and teacher tech, networking equipment, equipment audits, internal and external ticketing systems, troubleshooting.
- Manage orders for school materials, including poster paper, ink, and other supplies.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Manage the supply closet and inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Set up community meetings and events, ensuring all logistical requirements are met.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful event execution.
- Support the Families Team with event deliverables as necessary.
- Coordinate the printing and distribution of exam materials.
- Oversee the check-in and check-out process for exams.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in administrative or operations roles, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Initiative and quick, efficient delivery of results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Fluent Spanish speaker.
- Proficiency in IT troubleshooting and basic technical support.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in operations management or a related field is a plus.
