Forté Specialty Contractors is looking for our next Project Engineer. Our Project Engineer will aid both the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in ensuring construction crews complete their assigned projects on time and within the appropriate budget.
This position is based in Las Vegas, NV.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Project Documentation – track and submit logs/project drawings/specifications.
- Serve as a member of the Project’s Safety Committee.
- Project Permitting – create and maintain permit logs, track applications, assist project management with subcontractor coordination.
- Project Buyout – create and maintain procurement logs, Requests for Proposals (RFP), review and compare project proposals, schedule, and conduct descope meetings, prepare Letters of Intent (LOI), work with project accountant to log, and track project buy-out.
- Change Management – create and maintain change order logs, communicate with affected trades, log change events, prepare and issue change orders.
- Project Meetings – schedule, prepare agendas, record minutes.
- Project Quality Control – perform field inspections, record inspections, and inform Project Superintendent and Project Manager of items of concern.
- Ensure subcontractors are building in compliance with their contractual obligations including scope of work, quality of work, adequate use of labor and materials, and within agreed upon timelines.
- Project costs and billing – review internal invoices with project team, request and review subcontractor schedule of values, review trade invoices and recommend (if appropriate) approval.
- Identify construction document and project site conflicts and communicate them with the Project Manager in a timely manner.
- Other job duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or a related Engineering field, OR 1-2 years of experience in a Project Engineer or Project Coordinator role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Procore Construction Management Software and project scheduling software.
- Integrity and discretion in handling confidential project information and in dealing with project colleagues and other professionals inside and outside the company.
- Operational and/or experience in the construction industry preferred.
