What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant position at Forte Speech & Language Therapy, Inc.?
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our collaborative team. This is an in-person, school-based position that is available immediately, with the assignment running through the end of the school year. There is also potential for continued work into the start of Extended School Year (ESY) services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy support to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and speech and language goals.
- Help maintain and track student progress, recording therapy session notes and updates as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Assist in preparing assessment materials and report summaries as needed.
- Support the SLP in gathering data and completing documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the successful integration of speech and language support within the classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active CA SLPA license.
- Previous experience working as an SLPA or in a school setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Ability to work under the supervision and guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to ethical practice.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Reliable transportation.
