Summary
Forté is seeking a Bioskills Lab Technician, PRN, which will provide support in our state-of-the-art bioskills lab located in Carmel, Indiana.
This position offers variable hours on a PRN basis. Work will primarily take place in the second half of the week and weekends. The position will be a part of a team that works closely together to support the research and education activities of Forte Sports Medicine and Orthopedics.
Essential Functions

- Maintain a safe and clean lab environment.
- Cleaning of surgical instruments and equipment. Proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Event day setup, and processing of materials for return shipments.
- Work alongside physicians and vendor representatives as a “surgical technologist” preparing instrument tables and participating in bioskills activities.
- Operation of medical imaging equipment including standard and mini C-Arms

- Understanding of surgical equipment and instruments.
- Able to solve problems and innovate solutions
- Competent with computers and medical/lab software
- Strong communication skills with trainees and customers.
- Comfortable interacting with physicians, customer leadership, and support staff.
- Understanding of anatomy and surgical procedures
- Familiarity with specimen handling
- Detail-oriented
Work Environment
- This position is primarily performed in a medical office/laboratory environment with periodic exposure to toxic or hazardous waste encountered in a research lab

- Continuous standing, walking, sitting
- Frequent speaking, listening, computer and phone use
- Occasional reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling
- Infrequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
Travel Required - None
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- 1-2 years of prior research and/or lab experience is required
Preferred Education and Experience
- 4 year degree in clinical profession preferred
- Completion of a 2-year degree in a clinical care related field may apply
