What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Business Development position at Fortinet?
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead a defined group of Business Development representatives (BDRs) supporting a specific business segment. The BDM support their BDRs that are responsible for identifying and engaging contacts in target accounts with the goal of setting qualified meetings and generating sales pipeline for the sales organization. The Business Development Manager will have a quarterly quota to support the company's growth goals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day management and support of individual contributors, ensuring their daily and quarterly productivity/ performance meets business expectations and seek to identify ways to improve and accelerate performance.
- Be a subject matter expert and resource for your team, providing support and best practices to early-stage career professionals around cold calling/ objection handling, prospect engagement and nurturing, time management, etc.
- Liaise with sales and marketing leadership and stakeholders to support marketing initiatives, drive sales pipeline and yield positive business results for the organization
- Enable team to accelerate through the use of technology, with a mastery of sales enablement tools, including: Salesforce.com, Outreach.IO, Seamless.AI, Orum, 6Sense and more.
- Create and maintain reporting data to identify areas of employee development through skill building exercises, role playing and other employee development opportunities.
- Attract, hire and retain talented individuals, providing a positive, energetic and supportive work environment for all employees.
Required Experience & Skills
- 3-5 years of management experience, leading teams in both in-person and remote environments
- Strong technical command with the ability to leverage various SaaS applications to drive productivity, including: Salesforce.com, Outreach.IO, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, 6Sense, etc.
- History of high performance as an individual contributor in a KPI-driven/ quota-carrying environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized with effective time and activity management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Goal oriented, driven to meet and exceed expectations
