Position Summary:
The Student Success Coordinator assists the Education Manager in supporting, developing and monitoring the Student Services Department. The Student Success Coordinator coordinates with the Deans, the Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid and provides reports to the Education Manager and Student Services Advisors as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the Education Manager in supervising the Student Services Department, especially when the Manager is absent or engaged in other activities.
Provide daily and weekly activity reports to Student Services Advisors (SSA's) and leadership team as needed.
Provide exceptional service via phone, text messaging and email to assigned student population for the duration of their academic career to ensure high student satisfaction and retention.
Facilitate new student Orientations and ensure students are familiar with all of the tools and resources that are available to them.
Ensures SSA's are reinforcing appropriate student expectations and are providing the best possible service.
Act as escalation channel for SSA's and troubleshoot student support issues promptly and coordinate solutions with school staff and internal cross-functional teams in accordance with all school policies.
Serve as a liaison with Academics, Business Office, Financial Aid Department, Tech Support, Instructional Design Team and Career Services as needed to assist and support SSA's and students.
Assist students with resolving life problems and making referrals to appropriate resources.
Identify and assess risk student risk factors, contact students who are at risk and ensure that appropriate action is taken to address issues and concerns.
Develop and maintain resources that address common student life issues such as housing, Wi-Fi hotspots, suicide hotline, abuse hotline, etc.
Meet regularly with at-risk students and SSA's to monitor progress and provide services such as coordination of tutoring, time management, working with faculty and/or other staff members to help to eliminate obstacles to students' success from a life perspective.
Advise students and SSA's of school policies and assist students in using available resources.
Introduce students to internal resources such as Smarthinking, 24/7 tech support, questions, etc.
Introduce students to external resources such as networking opportunities, social groups, etc.
Manage student information system data with integrity and security.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student affairs and administrative responsibilities.
Develop rapport and constructive working relationships with all students and staff, particularly with academics and Program Associate Deans.
Promote student support services throughout the school.
Encourage professional growth and fosters cooperation amongst staff members.
Facilitate networking, communication, and leadership among personnel throughout the school.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
