Description

As the Account Manager, Inside Sales, you will be responsible for managing, retaining, and growing a portfolio of small to mid-size accounts. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of prior experience managing and growing accounts within the packaging industry, with expertise in upselling, developing customer relationships & retention strategies.  This position offers a hybrid work schedule , based out of our Lewisville, TX facility, and will include occasional travel.   

This position offers a generous base salary plus commission on achieved revenue growth for assigned accounts. General Responsibilities:

As the Account Manager, Inside Sales you are responsible for managing, retaining, and growing a portfolio of small to mid-size accounts.  In this role you will be focused on customer retention, strategic account management, revenue expansion through cross-selling, and proactive customer engagement.  In addition, you will act as the primary sales contact for your assigned accounts, ensuring exceptional service, monitoring account health, and identifying growth opportunities. Success in your role will be measured by customer retention rates, revenue growth within assigned accounts, and effective relationship management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Account Management & Retention

  • Manage small to mid-size accounts, with a focus on maintaining and growing customer relationships.
  • Implement tiered account management strategies, prioritizing high-value accounts for proactive engagement. 
  • Monitor customer activity and proactively address retention risks, including declining order volume or inactive accounts.   

Sales Growth & Expansion

  • Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities to maximize account value.
  • Leverage data analytics and CRM tools (Apollo, Salesforce, Power BI) to identify sales trends, target dormant accounts, and track customer behavior.
  • Promote bundled offerings, volume incentives, and contract renewals to increase revenue per account.
  • Coordinate with marketing to develop and execute targeted campaigns to drive account reactivation and incremental sales.
  • Manage and respond to inbound leads promptly, qualifying opportunities and guiding prospects through the sales process to drive conversions.

Collaboration with External Teams

  • Partner with field sales representatives to align on customer strategy and support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with customer service and operations to resolve issues, ensure order accuracy, and deliver a seamless customer experience. Advocate for customer needs and support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall customer journey. Collaborate with pricing and finance teams to offer competitive pricing strategies and volume-based incentives.

Sales Execution & Reporting

  • Maintain detailed CRM records to track sales activities, customer interactions, and account growth.
  • Provide quarterly business reviews on top tier accounts highlighting customer retention trends, revenue growth, and at-risk accounts.
  • Regularly analyze sales data and report on key performance metrics to sales leadership.

Qualifications


Requirements:
Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, associate degree or higher preferred.
  • At least 5 years of label, printing or packaging sales experience consistently demonstrating a track record of high retention and sales growth with existing customer accounts.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptably clean motor vehicle record (MVR).

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in selling techniques including securing face to face meetings with decision makers, debunking common sales objections, and closing deals.
  • Motivated, self-driven individual with exceptional customer service skills and the desire to “win”.
  • Capable of building strong relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Capable of exhibiting resilience and patience throughout the sales cycle.
  • Understanding of the sales landscape in the assigned area.
  • Proficient with Sales/CRM software (Smartsheet, SalesForce, Microsoft Project, etc.).
  • Able to successfully collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer needs.
  • Able to prioritize and manage competing projects, stay on task and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, problem solver; accountable to customers and company management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Training Requirements:

  • Willing to attend the required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires sitting, standing and occasional driving to customer locations and sales events.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.

Work Environment:

  • Home office: Adequate Wi-fi access required to support company provided computer and allow for seamless use of communication applications and tools for conducting daily business (ie: MS Teams, Zoom, chat, messaging, etc).
  • On-site office: Standard office environment, adjacent to production.
  • Regular exposure to dust and noise while in the production environment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • None required. Safety eye protection is highly recommended in production areas.

Travel:

  • This position will require occasional travel, up to 25% annually.
