Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Smart Hands Technician to assist with IMAC (Install, Move, Add, and Change) activities at our data center facilities. This role requires technical expertise in handling and maintaining data center infrastructure, ensuring that all tasks are performed within the designated Service Level Agreement (SLA) to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Racking and Staging: Assist with the physical racking and staging of servers, switches, and other hardware within data center racks.
- Server Moves: Move servers and other equipment as required to consolidate space and optimize the data center layout.
- Cable Management: Identify and resolve loose cable issues, which could cause downtime, by securing cables and ensuring proper cable management.
- Troubleshooting and Resolution: Provide troubleshooting support for hardware and network issues to avoid service disruptions.
- Compliance with SLA: Ensure that all tasks are completed within the designated 2-hour SLA after ticket creation and acknowledgement.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all activities, including changes, installations, and troubleshooting actions taken.
- Communication: Provide timely updates to clients and internal teams regarding the status of tickets and any issues encountered during the process.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in data center operations, smart hands services, or IT infrastructure support.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of DC infrastructure (racking switches, moving servers, and general hardware management).
- Familiarity with IMAC processes and tools.
- Experience in handling cable management and troubleshooting downtime-related issues.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to SLAs.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required, to meet project demands.
Project Scope:
- Location: This work will involve IMAC-related activities at our data centers in the USA and Canada. The projects will require physical handling of server infrastructure and addressing any immediate hardware-related issues within the stipulated SLA.
- SLA: We expect all tasks to be dispatched and completed within the designated 2-hour SLA after ticket creation/acknowledgement.
