The Smart Hands Technician is an onsite role based in the customer's datacenter. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and support of hardware and network infrastructure. The Smart Hands Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to racking and stacking equipment, patch cabling, decommissioning old equipment, performing equipment swaps, and overseeing disposal activities. The technician will also assist with troubleshooting hardware issues in collaboration with remote administrators, support facilities management, site security, vendor and customer escorts, inventory tracking, and engaging in project-based work as required.

PAY RATE: $35 to $38/hour
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Hardware Deployment & Maintenance:
- Rack and stack physical servers, network devices, and appliances.
- Install and manage patch cabling.
- Decommission and dispose of outdated hardware.
- Perform equipment swaps as needed.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues.
- Utilize crash carts to configure Integrated Lights-Out Management (iLOM) or equivalent tools.
- Work closely with remote admins to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Site Operations Support:
- Coordinate with facilities management to ensure power and cooling requirements are met.
- Escort vendors and customers onsite as needed.
- Enforce and maintain site security protocols.
Inventory Management:
- Track and manage hardware inventory accurately.
- Ensure proper documentation of installed and decommissioned equipment.
On-Call Responsibilities: participate in a bi-weekly on-call rotation to provide after-hours support.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
-2 years' hands-on experience in datacenter environments and network/communication rooms.
-Proven experience in:
- Racking and stacking physical servers, network devices, and appliances.
- Installing and managing patch cables.
- Decommissioning and disposing of hardware.
- Troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues.
- Experience configuring iLOM or similar tools using crash carts.
