What are the responsibilities and job description for the VA Disability Claims Case Manager position at Fortuna BMC?
As a Case Manager - Level I, you'll play a key role in guiding cases through the review process with care and precision. You'll review ESR case details, examine medical and service records, and identify if clarification is needed before submitting requests to the VA. Your keen attention to detail will ensure cases are prepared for the next steps in processing.
In this role, you'll collaborate with claimants and clinic staff to coordinate and manage appointments, oversee the completion of examinations, and ensure all essential information is accurately submitted for review.

WORKSITE : Remote
WORK SCHEDULE : Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday- shifts hours will vary between 7 am - 7 pm in your time zone
COMPENSATION : 19.00 - 21.00

WHAT YOU'LL DO :
Review details of the ESR received from the VA.
Review medical and service records.
Determine if further clarification is needed and submit clarification requests to the VA.
Once the case is ready for further processing, work with claimants and collaborate with clinic staff to complete, manage, and monitor scheduling of the necessary appointment(s).
Ensure the completion of the exam and submission of the necessary exam information into the review process.
Maintain a working understanding of potential issues that could arise in the processing of the case.
Collaborate with staff from exam facilities and other cross-project workstreams to facilitate efficient, accurate, timely, and complete case handling.

Demonstrated ability to coach team members to higher levels of performance
Must have the ability to organize simultaneous tasks for individual assignments and the workflow of others within the unit
Proven ability to work as a team member
Commitment to contributing to the VA's mission and supporting Veterans through the MDE program.
Education :
Associate's degree preferred
High school diploma or GED required
Experience :
1 - 2 years of Customer Service or Contact Center Scheduler experience required
