Summary
The Global Business Development Manager is responsible for driving strategic engagement with E&P companies and key industry stakeholders, facilitating multi-product family sales opportunities, and establishing high-level commercial relationships. This role is not a product subject matter expert but rather a strategic facilitator who connects decision-makers at E&P companies with the appropriate internal teams, ensuring alignment across product families and commercial leaders.
This is a global, individual contributor role that requires a self-motivated, highly communicative professional who excels at setting direction, building relationships, and driving commercial execution across multiple product lines. The ideal candidate is a proactive and strategic thinker, able to navigate complex sales cycles and leverage the FET organization to deliver growth in key target markets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Relationship Management
- Engage directly with high-level decision-makers at E&P operators to identify business opportunities and position FET as a preferred partner.
- Develop and manage a strategic account plan for key operators, identifying areas of opportunity and aligning internal resources accordingly.
- Facilitate introductions and handoffs between operators and internal product family experts, ensuring seamless engagement and execution.
- Act as a trusted advisor to key clients, understanding their business drivers and aligning solutions accordingly.
- Expand strategic relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring long-term value creation and account growth.
Internal Coordination & Opportunity Management
- Coordinate closely with product families, commercial leaders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop tailored solutions for customers.
- Ensure seamless execution of opportunities, working cross-functionally to drive deals to closure.
- Leverage CRM and sales analytics tools to track engagement, manage pipeline, and report progress against key KPIs.
- Participate in strategic sales reviews and QBRs, providing insights on market trends, customer engagement, and account strategy.
Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market shifts, providing actionable insights to internal teams.
- Support the company’s commercial transformation process, ensuring adherence to best practices in sales management and strategic account planning.
- Represent FET at key industry events, conferences, and trade shows, positioning the company as a leader in energy solutions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Strategic relationships built – Defined by engagement with key decision-makers, progress in account development, and level of internal alignment.
- Expansion of FET’s presence within target operators – Measured by increased engagement across product families.
- Effectiveness in leveraging CRM, strategic account planning, and sales tools.
- Revenue contribution from facilitated opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management in the energy sector, preferably calling on E&P operators.
- Proven ability to engage C-suite and senior decision-makers in commercial discussions.
- Strong experience in multi-product-line selling and cross-functional collaboration.
- High level of commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and deal structuring expertise.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex commercial conversations and drive alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) and sales analytics.
- Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable with setting direction and driving execution independently.
- Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time, depending on customer engagement needs and strategic initiatives.
