Summary:
The Strategic Planning Analyst will champion the development and management of a full cycle data based sales process for their assigned FET product lines. A successful candidate will be someone who can source relevant market data, analyze the data to help develop sales strategy, turn the strategy into a tactical sales plan, and compare the plan against actual results to continuously improve the process. This position will require someone who is willing to identify, meet with, and develop relationships with key industry contacts. This position will report to the Manager of Strategic Planning and will work closely with their assigned product line management. This position will be primarily office based, and will require up to 25% travel for sales meetings, field visits, and industry events.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the product line with analytics and customer insights
- Empower the product line team with insights that inform and fulfill strategic objectives and goals for every fiscal quarter
- Quantify the impact of market shifts initiatives on customer success and future behavior
- Responsible for business analytics work through all phases, including data quality, data analysis, data visualization
- Supervise usage metrics, understanding business-based explanations for large scale trends and patterns in customer lifecycle behavior
- Develop data models and analytical tools for ongoing audience segmentation, benchmarking, trending and competitive analysis
- Build dashboards, reports and presentations
- Collaborate with cross-functional team, including Data Insights, Operations, Product, Finance and Engineering
- Programming skills in SQL required
- Demonstrated skills using Python and R
- Skills in developing compelling data visualizations, dashboards and reporting in Tableau or PowerBI
- Skills in exploratory data analysis and familiarity with sophisticated quantitative analysis including (but not limited to) regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analyses
- Comfortable working with modern data science technologies. Familiarity with database modeling and data warehousing principles
- Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner
- Ability to work effectively with data science and engineering partners to meet the data needs of the business, translating business needs into analytical requirements
- Knowledge of the digital advertising industry or related field
- Proactive work style and creative problem solver who has the ability to handle multiple projects, demonstrating a strong work ethic
- Ability to operate comfortably and effectively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional, constantly evolving environment
- Experience engaging with the business and leadership on problem definition
Qualifications
- 2 years of sales strategy experience
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in a quantitative field of study including business, statistics, mathematics, economics or a related field
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Ability to communicate well, form strong partnerships and powerfully convey their recommendations in order to gain action on their insights.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to think outside the box. They should understand the big picture and how their decisions will affect the organization moving forward. Competent and curious to ask questions and learn to fill gaps, desire to teach and learn
- Microsoft office proficiency
- Familiarity with CRM systems (MS Dynamics preferred)
- Intellectual curiosity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (pivot tables, computational programming)
