FinTech Controller - Charlotte NC
This position is primarily remote but there is occasional time needed time in office and you must be local to Charlotte or surrounding areas, within a 1.5 - 2 hour drive from Charlotte NC. Current or prior fintech or banking related financial services experience is required.

We are seeking a strong, hands-on Controller who has excellent stability across 10 years of career experience, solid professional references and preferably a CPA license, though the CPA license is not required. The Controller must be able to interface and communicate across the organization, working hand in hand with C-Suite executives and successfully managing and mentoring a small team of junior staff members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide hands-on management for a small team responsible for corporate accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable as well as disbursement functions, petty cash, expense reporting, cash management and corporate payroll, payroll tax and compliance reporting
- Execute month-end close and all related financial reporting
- Work with CFO to improve the corporate accounting and financial reporting process, including designing and executing more in-depth weekly reporting as well as better month-end, quarterly and annual close processes and procedures
- Design, implement and maintain a system of internal controls, ensuring the integrity of accounting processes and procedures
- Support and manage the annual budgeting process for the organization
- Work closely with CEO to design and implement industry best practices for capturing, analyzing and reporting key financial data
- Research, review and explore accounting and finance software and ERP systems to modernize, implement or enhance what the company is currently utilizing
- Work closely with internal and external professionals to ensure accurate, compliant and on-time income tax reporting and support the annual audit process
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects, compiling various ad hoc reports and acting as the financial right hand to the CEO in running this corporation day to day
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor or higher in Accounting or Finance
- 10 years of managerial experience, preferably with experience in fintech
- CPA designation preferred
- Solid accounting systems experience, including proficiency in MS Excel and Sage
Salary : $130,000 - $180,000
