Position: Supervisor, Collections
Job Description:
The Supervisor, Collections is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of Collection Analysts. This position determines risk by numerous means and establishes new accounts as well as credit limits for new accounts.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work under the direction of the Manager, Collections for the daily supervision of employees within the Credit & Collections department
- Ensure staff is meeting productivity goals
- Assist in hiring and training of new team members
- Work with collectors to develop best practices
- Assist in direction and guidance in operational procedures
- Weekly and monthly reporting
- Scheduling and time keeping for direct reports
- Recognize and assist collectors in escalating problem accounts in a timely manner
- Communicate with internal customers such as sales and operations to resolve collections issues
- Perform collector account changes in all operating systems
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion
- Working knowledge of how to identify risk for the company
- Ability to acquire working knowledge of trucking industry
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Skills:
- Ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus
- Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
