What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equine Veterinary Technician position at Forward Equine, LLC?
Forward Equine is a one-doctor equine ambulatory practice providing sports medicine and lameness services to southeastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois. We are a fully ambulatory practice based primarily out of Washington, Ozaukee, and Sheboygan counties.
We are seeking a veterinary technician or assistant with experience to join our team. In this role you will work closely with the veterinarian and clients as an integral part of our care team.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the practice vehicle to and from appointments
- Lunge and jog in hand with horses of all breeds and disciplines
- Set up equipment and prepare for procedures
- Hold horses for procedures and diagnostics
- Restock inventory and maintain order in the practice vehicle
Qualifications:
- Horse handling skills
- Physical ability to jog while leading horses
- Ability to lift heavy equipment
- Ability to work semi-outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfort with exposure to needles, blood, and medical procedures

- Hourly wage dependent on experience

- Expected hours vary seasonally. Spring, summer and fall are busier than winter
