Forward Financial Intelligence empowers local businesses and nonprofits by strengthening financial operations and distilling better intelligence from financial data. We are seeking an enthusiastic Payroll Specialist to join our team!
What will I do?
Support FFI’s bookkeeping team with your excellent payroll administrative skills. As part of the team, your client responsibilities will include:
- Full-cycle payroll processing and management for various clients
- Ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in all payroll-related activities
- Posting related payroll accounting
- Advising clients and team members on pay-related best practices
- Payroll tax filings, audit support, retirement and benefits processing
- Documenting processes and procedures
- Experience with ADP preferred
- Ad hoc projects as needed in support of payroll
- Ability to support client HR activities
Qualifications and Skills
- 3-5 years of professional payroll management experience required
- Expertise in payroll compliance required
- Multi-state payroll compliance experience preferred
- Professional payroll certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field preferred
- Experience with payroll/accounting software (ADP/QB online preferred)
- Exceptional organizational ability and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Outstanding spreadsheet skills or a desire to develop strong spreadsheet skills
- Knowledge of payroll administration, operations, and processing
- Ability to apply sound judgment and think critically
- Skilled in providing guidance, training, and expertise to various stakeholders
Our diverse clients are almost exclusively in the Charlottesville area, so a passion to serve our local business and non-profit community will be essential. As such, while this work will be hybrid and leaning towards mostly remote, you must be local to the Charlottesville area.
