Position Overview:
As a Career Services Specialist, you'll play an essential role in helping individuals map their career journey through personalized guidance and support. Under the leadership of the WIOA Team Leader, you'll use the Transition to Success model to help participants identify their dreams and develop concrete goals for achieving success. This position requires someone who is motivated, organized, and passionate about supporting others through individualized case management, job placement, and career readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of clients, offering both individual and group mentoring to help participants achieve their career, educational, and vocational goals.
- Assess participants’ skills, interests, and strengths while identifying developmental needs and service gaps.
- Collaborate with employers and community organizations to create job leads, work experiences, and placement opportunities for participants.
- Maintain accurate records and track the progress of each participant throughout their program journey.
- Provide outreach to employers, schools, and local community partners to increase awareness of the WIOA program and recruit participants.
- Deliver career workshops and assessments, helping participants build key job readiness skills.
- Network with local employers and organizations to secure employment and internship opportunities.
- Stay informed on local labor market trends and adjust services to meet evolving demands.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree and at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of participants, employers, and community partners.
- Strong motivational and coaching skills to help participants overcome challenges and reach their goals.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other common office software.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability required.
- Ability to travel to different work sites and maintain a flexible schedule.
