Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of refugees? We are seeking a dedicated Career Opportunities Specialist to help create and maintain meaningful employment opportunities for individuals navigating new beginnings in our community. In this role, you'll collaborate with local employers, provide essential training, and support refugees in their journey toward self-sufficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build Relationships: Manage and cultivate partnerships with local employers to align job opportunities with the needs of refugees.
• Collaborate: Work alongside social service agencies to ensure comprehensive support for refugee participants.
• Enhance Training: Partner with our internal team to develop engaging workshops focused on employability and cultural awareness.
• Create Community: Establish support groups that encourage networking and sharing experiences among refugees.
• Conduct Workshops: Facilitate weekly training sessions to prepare refugees for the workforce.
• Streamline Language Access: Strengthen connections with English Language Learner (ELL) providers to expedite language training for refugees.
• Travel Required: Engage directly with clients, employers, and partners in various locations.

Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of refugee experiences and cultural differences.
• Proven experience building partnerships with employers and educational institutions.
• Strong adaptability to changing priorities and participant needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to use translation services effectively.
• Commitment to excellence and the ability to inspire refugees to recognize and leverage their strengths.
• Team-oriented yet able to work independently.
• Creative, flexible, and innovative problem-solver.

Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree and 2 years of work-related experience. Alternatively, a combination of education and relevant experience that demonstrates the necessary skills and qualifications for this position.
