Forward Slope Inc. currently has one (1) full-time opening for an Accountant III. This position is located in San Diego.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant III to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. This position plays a key role in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accountant III will collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements and support strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with DCAA regulations and government contracting requirements.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
- Support audits (internal, external, tax, and compliance) by preparing necessary documentation.
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and system efficiencies.
- Handle tax reporting, compliance filings, and other ad-hoc financial projects as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience with DCAA regulations strongly preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint) and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Experience in government contracting environments is required
Salary Range:
- $95,000-$105,000 per year*
