A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE STRIPING PROJECT MANAGER
As the Striping Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of pavement marking and traffic control projects. From project planning, scheduling, and forecasting to ensuring timely completion within budget, your role will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. You will lead project teams, manage resources, and maintain consistent communication with the Director of Operations to track progress and address any issues that may arise.
Your position also requires ensuring compliance with various regulations, including DOT, OCIP, and OSHA standards, while fostering strong client relationships. By developing effective strategies for improving project outcomes, you will help drive success and contribute to the company's long-term growth. A key metric for success in this role will be the achievement of Gross Profit Margins (GPMs) and the development and retention of skilled project crews.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in project management, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years in construction, preferably road construction. A valid driver's license and clean driving record are necessary. The role requires proficiency in MS Office, the ability to read maps, blueprints, and road signs, and strong organizational, communication, and project management skills. Knowledge of state specifications and equipment used in construction is essential. The candidate should understand safety culture, be able to address contractor issues promptly, and be willing to travel, including overnight stays and weekends as needed.
