Position: Billing Agent
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage EDI downloads from customers
- Communicate with internal sales representatives and external agents to confirm shipment charges
- Review courier and agent invoices to verify accuracy, compile necessary documentation, and prepare for billing
- Process courier billing into the JSI invoicing system on a weekly basis
- Handle invoice adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate records for future reference and follow-up procedures
- Evaluate current billing procedures and identify opportunities for improvement
- Deliver exceptional customer service through professional communication and prompt responses to billing and shipment inquiries
- Ensure customer profiles and established rates are accurate and up-to-date
- Provide coverage for team members during absences, as required
- Prepare and deliver invoice files to customers
- Compile and submit weekly invoices and related files to the accounting department
- Understand shipment tracking and notification procedures
- Foster a team-oriented environment and maintain a collaborative mindset
- Adhere to all company policies and standards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Entry-level position; prior billing experience preferred
- Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and professional, with strong problem-solving abilities
- Pride in producing accurate work consistently
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels
