Position: Human Resource Assistant
Job Description:
The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the business and human resources management in supporting the needs of the business. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: liaison to payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, and leaves of absence administration.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel
- Answers questions regarding personnel policies and procedures
- Provides excellent service to employees and managers regarding human resource processes and employment matters by answering and responding to phone calls and emails timely and accurately
- Provides support in the administration of employee benefits
- Assists in communicating benefits information to employees
- Supports leave of absence administration
- Supports the onboarding of new employees including communicating benefit eligibility information and employee benefit enrollment
- Retains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database
- Maintains personnel files and records
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to accurately perform high volume and detailed work
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
- Professional oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer services skills
- Working knowledge of employment law and regulations
- Minimum of 2 years related work experience in administration
- Proficient experience utilizing HRIS software, Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Excel, Outlook and Word
- Ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential information
- Available to work Monday – Friday; 10:00AM to 7:00PM Eastern Standard Time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years related work experience in and human resources
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
