Position: Ocean Import Agent
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide and process rate quotes and service orders for shipments while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Invoice shipments
- Compile reports and provide support to other staff members
- Resolve customer issues by investigating transactions, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management
- Work in conjunction with sales and management to establish, implement, and maintain client specific needs
- Ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and local & federal regulations
- Coordinate the transportation of goods ocean
- Prepare and process required documentation for International Import and Export Transportation
- Track and monitor shipments, providing regular status updates to customers
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent years of experience
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization
- Complete understanding of export process including but not limited to:
- AMS, ISF, and Clearance process understanding
- Import process and timing of each operations function
- Cargo routing, US rail network for containers, LCL routing
- Basic to advanced computer skills
- Ability to establish priorities
- Previous experience using Cargo Wise
- Solid understanding of ocean industry, vendors, routing, and system structure
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding import and exports
- Previous knowledge of cargo operations preferred
- Multilingual a plus
