What You'll Do :
Lead the charge in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, covering everything from labor and materials to equipment and subcontractors.
Review project plans, specifications, and scope to identify potential risks and ensure all requirements are met.
Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to gather critical information, ensuring every estimate is on point.
Leverage your expertise to analyze historical data and market trends , ensuring our pricing is competitive while also identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
Own the bid process , from soliciting proposals to evaluating subcontractor and supplier submissions.
Be an integral part of pre-bid meetings, site visits , and client presentations, building strong relationships with stakeholders and addressing any concerns.
Lead value engineering efforts, driving innovative solutions that maintain quality and client satisfaction.
Mentor and train junior estimators, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team.
What We’re Looking For :
Experience and Expertise : A seasoned estimator with at least 8–10 years in construction estimating, including 5 years in commercial construction.
Strong Decision-Making Skills : Ability to make strategic decisions even under tight deadlines and sometimes with incomplete information.
Collaborative Spirit : A team player who builds strong relationships with clients, coworkers, and vendors.
Construction Knowledge : A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and market trends , as well as the ability to read and interpret construction documents.
Analytical Mindset : Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills :
Software Proficiency : Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Office Suite, ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Primavera P6, or similar.
Experience with Municipal Bids : Knowledge of government and municipal bid processes is a plus.
Specialty Knowledge : Experience in tenant improvement and retrofit projects will set you apart.
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering , or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Compensation & Benefits :
Salary : $140,000 to $160,000 base pay
