FOS is seeking a full-time Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at our Long Island office. The ideal candidate will have excellent people and time management skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and 3-5 years or experience in a human resource or employee relations role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources
policies, programs and practices.
• Maintains work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all
positions.
• Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying
and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to
management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit
contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational
programs on benefit programs.
• Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources
federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and
representing the organization at hearings.
• Processes payroll to ensure accurate timely payment of wages and union benefits
• Cultivates professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing
professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in
professional societies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or similar work experience required.
• 5 years of experience in a human resources or employee relations role
• Experience with union payroll is a plus
