Foster-Glocester Regional School District is currently accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher (Summer)
July 7 - August 7, 2025 (Preschool, Intensive Academic/Life Skills programs)
July 14 - August 7, 2025 (Academic programs & Clinic services)
(Note: Start and/or end dates may be subject to change based upon assignment)
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
● Implement and monitor the delivery of diverse academic, functional and behavioral instruction.
● Maintain and interpret data related to monitoring student progress and successful interventions.
● Provide, as needed, safe and therapeutic Crisis Intervention, including the accurate completion of all required
documentation and follow-up activities.
● Implement de-escalation, physical intervention and sensory integration strategies as needed.
● Implement proactive supports using the TEACCH approach to instruction as appropriate.
● Produce necessary adaptations of materials for students in collaboration with other service providers (SLP, OT) &
TA.
● Assist in implementing therapist-designed curriculum modifications and accommodations within the school
setting.
● Provide instructional and physical assistance as necessary in personal care routines (including toileting, hygiene
and dressing).
● Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by building administrator.
● Complete diagnostic assessments required for instructional planning, if necessary.
● Completion of an end of summer progress report for each student in the program.
