Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Supervisor to oversee construction projects and a team of framers on a construction site, actively participating in the framing process by measuring, cutting, and assembling lumber, while ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards the project adheres to blueprints, building codes, and safety standards. Requiring a high level of experience and expertise in carpentry and framing techniques.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and extensive knowledge of construction processes. This role requires effective communication with team members, subcontractors, and upper management team to maintain project schedules and uphold safety regulations.
Duties
- Manage daily operations on the construction site, ensuring that all work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Actively participate in the framing process by measuring, cutting, and assembling lumber for walls, floors, roofs, and other structures.
- Leading the framing crew: Assign tasks to framing crew members, monitor their work, and provide guidance and instruction to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Conduct quality control inspections to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Train and supervise crew members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Attention to detail: Ensure accuracy in measurements and framing layout
- Implement best practices for safety on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisor or supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Leadership abilities: Effectively manage and motivate a team of framers.
- Problem-solving skills: Identify and resolve framing issues on the job site
- Physical stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks like lifting heavy materials and working in various positions.
Work environment:
- Primarily outdoors on construction sites, exposed to weather conditions.
- May involve working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Requires wearing safety gear like hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
