POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Lunch and Recess Aide ensures student safety, promotes positive behavior, and fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment during lunch and recess. This part-time position is for three hours daily, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Supervision:
Monitor students in the cafeteria, playground, and other designated areas to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
Assist students as needed during lunch (e.g., opening packages, cleaning spills, encouraging healthy habits).
Oversee playground activities, encouraging safe and inclusive play.
Behavior Support:
Promote positive interactions and resolve minor conflicts using school-wide behavior expectations and Responsive Classroom practices.
Address inappropriate behaviors respectfully and in alignment with the school’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) approach.
Safety and Organization:
Ensure a safe environment by monitoring for hazards, enforcing rules, and responding promptly to injuries or emergencies.
Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly cafeteria and playground area.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other staff members to coordinate transitions between lunch and recess.
Communicate any concerns or incidents to teachers or administrators as needed.
Other Duties:
Perform other tasks as assigned by the principal to support the safe and effective operation of the school.
